REGULAMIN

  1. NAME OF THE RALLY:

Polish Hard Enduro Championship 2023 – Beskid HERO.

 

  1. ORGANIZER:

  1. DATE AND VENUE OF THE RALLY:

3.1. The international Beskid HERO rally will be held on June 2-4 in Poland, in Wierchomla (Malopolskie Voivodeship). The competition base / paddock / machine park will be located at: click here.

3.2. The race office (administration control) will be open on June 1 from 18:00-22:00 and on June 2-4 from 08:00-18:00. Location of the competition office: click here.

Administrative Control will be conducted on June 1 from 18:00 – 22:00 and on June 2 from 9:00 – 12:00 in the Race Office located at the lower station of the Wierchomla ski lift: click here.

  1. RALLY PROGRAM/ROUTE:

Prologue (June 2) – prologue start: click here.

Riders start individually in 10-second increments according to starting classes and numbers received at Administrative Control.
– Competitors ride a loop of approximately 5 kilometers. Each competitor has the opportunity to ride the prologue twice. The better time counts as the result.
– The time obtained during the prologue determines the starting places for the second day of competition. The time of the prologue is also counted in the general classification of the race.

“Hard Enduro” main part – June 3 and 4:
Competitors will start according to their assigned starting classes and results obtained on the previous day.

Route: the length of the route will be about 17 kilometers and there will be one Aid Area (Service Point, tank point). The driving time for one loop is about 45 minutes. The route will be marked with tape hung on trees – in places where the tape will be hung on both sides of the route, you should ride in the middle – between the tapes.

Duration:
June 3:
Women, Hobby, Hobby Masters: 3 laps, time limit is 3 hours (after this time, it is not possible to enter another lap).
PRO, Expert, Expert Masters: 3 laps, time limit is 3 hours (after this time, it is not possible to enter another lap).

June 4:
Women, Hobby, Hobby Masters: 3 laps, time limit is 2.5 hours (after this time, it is not possible to enter another lap).
PRO, Expert, Expert Masters: 3 laps, time limit is 2.5 hours (after this time, it is not possible to enter another lap).

 

  1. CATEGORIES:

The minimum age of participants in all categories is 16 years /persons born in 2007 and earlier/.

  • HOBBY AND HOBBY MASTERS:
    License: not required.
    Age: HOBBY* – born from 01.01.1984 to 31.12.2007.
    HOBBY MASTERS** – born in 1983 and earlier.
    Required: signing a statement of health allowing participation in the competition + insurance
    Route category: basic, route passable for people with basic Hard Enduro riding skills.
  • WOMEN:
    License: not required.
    Age: HOBBY* – born from 01.01.1984 to 31.12.2007.
    HOBBY MASTERS** – born in 1983 and earlier.
    Required: signing a statement of health allowing participation in the competition + insurance
    Route category: basic, route passable for people with basic Hard Enduro riding skills. Same as in Hobby class.
  • EXPERT AND EXPERT MASTERS:
    License: participation for both licensed and unlicensed riders.
    Age: EXPERT* – born from 01.01.1984 to 31.12.2007.
    EXPERT MASTERS – born in 1983 and earlier.
    Required: signed declaration of health condition allowing participation in the competition + insurance.
    Route category: for riders with experience in Hard Enduro riding. Route requiring good mountain riding skills and very good physical condition.
  • PRO:
    License: participation for both licensed and unlicensed riders.
    Age: PRO*** – born in 2007 and earlier
    Required: signed statement of health allowing participation in the competition + insurance
    Route category: for riders with very extensive experience in Hard Enduro riding. Very difficult route.

Information for competitors who want to be classified in the Polish Cup or Polish Championships – after entering the license number next to the appropriate starting class, you will be classified according to the class and license:
– in the Polish Championships: PRO class – competitors with license A
– in Polish Cup: Expert and Expert Masters classes – competitors with A, B or C license

*Age of HOBBY, EXPERT – persons by age from 16 to 39 years old.
**MASTERS age – persons by age from 40 and older.
***WOMEN’S, PRO age – persons by age from 16 years and older.

 

  1. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION / REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

6.1. Each competitor must present the following documents to the organizer:

  • The license number of the Polish Enduro Championship (in the case of competitors with a license)
  • ID card.
  • Confirmation of the participation fee.
  • Liability and personal accident insurance – it is possible to purchase insurance in the race office, during the administration control on 1-2.06.2023.
  • In addition, for underage participants: consent of legal guardian.

6.2. Each participant must meet the following conditions:

  • Complete registration through the application form at https://www.beskidhero.com/en/registration-2/. Online registration ends on May 19, 2023.
  • Have a technically working motorcycle, which will be subjected to a technical control after confirming participation at the race office.
  • Have an approved motorcycle helmet and protective clothing, which includes: goggles, gloves, boots and protectors.
  • The rider must be in good health to participate in the competition.
  • Confirm participation in the competition on June 1, 2023 from 18:00 to 22:00 or on June 2, 2023 from 09:00 to 12:00 and carry a set of documents listed in para. 6.1.
  • Sign the competitor’s declaration.
  • Receive and properly attach the electronic chips provided by the organizer at the race office during registration.

6.3 Any changes to the entry lists can be made no later than May 19, 2023.

6.4 By completing the entry card, the participant accepts the following clause:
“The organizer, all persons cooperating with the organizer, as well as persons associated with the conduct and organization of the competition shall not be liable to the participants for any personal, material or property damage that occurs before, during or after the competition. Participants compete at their own risk. Participants assume civil and legal liability for all damages. By accepting this declaration, participants waive the right of legal or recourse against the organizer or its contractors in the event of an accident or damage related to the competition. I acknowledge that in the event of an accident I may not bring any claims against the organizer. I undertake to abide by the orders of the officials, judges and the terms and conditions of the regulations. I agree with the conditions of participation and register my participation in the above-mentioned competition. My health condition allows me to participate in sports competitions, without risk to health or life. I have familiarized myself with the formula and route of the competition. I am aware of the risks arising from participation in the competition. I have valid insurance for accidents, medical expenses, sports injuries and civil liability. I am not under the influence of alcohol, psychoactive drugs or other substances that adversely affect my judgment and the risks arising from participation in the competition.”

6.5 In the case of participation of young people under 18 years of age, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required by signing the statement:
“Photos, video recordings and interviews with my person, as well as the results with my personal data may be used by the press, radio and television. With my signature, I assure you that I have read all the terms and conditions of the competition regulations and have filled out the application form truthfully and completely. I agree to the processing of my personal data in accordance with the Act of August 29, 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws No. 133, item 883).”

 

  1. COMPETITOR REGISTRATION / ENTRY FEES:

7.1. Online registration will be launched on April 5, 2023 at 09:00 a.m. and will last until 19.05.2023. until 09:00 a.m. It is not possible to register on-site at the race office.

7.2. The limit of competitors is 350 people. In case of exceeding the limit of available starting places, the order is determined by the moment of application / order displayed on the application list /. After exceeding the limit of 350 competitors, a reserve list will be created. The organizer reserves the possibility of placing an additional 40 invited athletes on the start list. /

Lack of payment will result in deletion from the list, and the next first person from the reserve list will be allowed to take the place of the deleted competitor.

7.3. The entry fee is:

  • 170 Euro through registration and online payment on or before 30.04.2023.
  • 200 Euro through registration and online payment or at the event office on 01.05.2023. – 02.06.2023 r.

In case of resignation: before 15.05.2023 the organizer returns 50% of the starting free to the rider who resigned. After that date there is no return option.

7.4. As part of the entry fee, each participant receives:

  • limited t-shirt, International Beskid HERO competition / at registration please specify size /,
  • access to a guarded paddock/machine park,
  • access to motorcycle washers,
  • water, and food at the nutrition point on the competition route,
  • medical security,
  • starting numbers.

  1. TECHNICAL CONDITIONS:

MOTORCYCLES, INSPECTION:

  • Acceptable motorcycles: Enduro and Cross.
  • Motorcycles must be technically impeccable and clean. The noise level must not exceed 96dB.
  • The organizer has the right not to admit a motorcycle with technical problems and in case of having any objections.

PARTS CHANGES, REPAIRS:

  • It is forbidden to replace a motorcycle during the competition.
  • All repairs made within the machine park must be carried out on the environmental mat.
  • Repairs to the motorcycle during the competition are permitted. Place the motorcycle in a safe place off the course so as not to interfere with other riders on the course.

REFUELING:

  • There is one refueling point along the competition route. Fuel must be stored in a plastic canister, clearly marked with the starting number given to the competitor at registration. The fuel canister must be delivered no later than 10 minutes before the opening of the paddock for each category. The organizer will collect the canisters and transport them to the refueling point, where they will be placed in boxes numbered : 1-50, 51-100, 101-150, 151-200, 201-250, 251-300, etc. – denoting the starting number. The canisters can be collected from the paddock each day after the end of the race /30 minutes after the last competitor has crossed the finish line/.
  • Competitors must have their own fuel.
  • Refueling takes place only with the engine turned off, on ecological mats.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the refueling areas!
  • Detailed information on the location of the refueling point will be given during the briefing with the competitors.

 

  1. STARTING NUMBERS:
  • The organizer shall provide starting numbers assigned according to the numbers on the starting lists.
  • The rider is obliged to fix the numbers on the front of the motorcycle and on both sides, according to the instructions obtained at the competition office.
  • Technical acceptance of motorcycles is carried out only with permanently affixed starting numbers.
  • Only motorcycles with permanently affixed starting numbers are allowed to enter the Paddock.
  • On the starting numbers there is a phone number to the emergency services / contact in case of an accident / and the number to the organizer / contact in case of damage to the motorcycle on the competition route without the possibility of sholting it, getting lost in the field, etc./.

 

  1. SAFETY RULES:
  • Marschals are set up along the competition route to signal danger along the route.
  • Marschals are equipped with two flags: yellow and red.
    The yellow flag is used to signal a crash. A competitor seeing a yellow flag flying is required to exercise caution, slow down and be prepared to come to a complete stop.
  • On each loop there are places of crossing public roads with checkpoints /checkpoints/. All competitors are required to stop at each check point. At the point of passage through public roads, it is necessary to strictly follow the instructions of orderly /marshals / directing traffic.
  • A competitor seeing a flying red flag is required to stop immediately.
  • Competitors are required to attend two technical briefings on: Saturday, June 2, at 13:00 (briefing for the Prologue) at the Wierchomla Hotel (room by the reception) after the Administrative Control and Technical Examination, and on Saturday, June 2, at 20:00 (briefing for the following days). At the briefing, all details of the race and possible changes to the regulations will be given.

 

  1. IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT / DAMAGE TO THE MOTORCYCLE:
  • When you see an accident on the route, stop and help the injured person.
  • If the injured person has lost consciousness or there is a suspicion of serious injury, call the competition medical services, or report the accident to the nearest flagman on the competition route.
  • If your motorcycle is damaged and there is no way to reach the finish line report to the nearest flagman. At 6:00 pm each day, the competition route will be officially closed by the enforcement service. Inoperable motorcycles will be transported to the machine area.

 

  1. AN EVERY HARD ENDURO RIDER’S MUST-HAVE:

As a competitor during the race, you are required to bring with you:

  • A cell phone in a waterproof case,
  • Min. 2 liters of water,
  • An emergency thermal blanket.

 

  1. RALLY ROUTE

Hard Enduro is a competition held in tough, natural mountain terrain. The route runs in terrain with varied characteristics including earth, stones, boulders or roots, and sections on both flat and sloping terrain.

 

  1. ROUTE MARKING:

The route is demarcated by demarcation tapes, hung from trees. The route also includes sections – special sections – separated by demarcation tapes on both sides. In these places it is obligatory to drive between the tapes, and going beyond them will result in a penalty or disqualification of the competitor.

IMPORTANT: On the routes of the EXPERT, EXPERT MASTERS and PRO categories, in places separated and marked with NO HELP ZONE signs, it is strictly prohibited to receive outside help. Sections of the route marked in this way must be completed independently or possibly with the help of competitors.

 

  1. START/FINISH:
  • Electronic time measurement is mandatory at the Beskid HERO competition.
    At the start of the competition, the competitors go in a column led by the organizer.
  • Gathering of competitors takes place 30 minutes before the start of a given group. Details will be given during the technical briefing.
  • It is prohibited to drive on the route both before, during and after the competition. Any violation of this provision will be punished by disqualification.
  • Competitors start according to the order on the start list. In addition, the competitors are lined up by the judge.
  • Competitors in the starting area are required to have clean and legible starting numbers.
  • In case of bad weather conditions, the organizer will provide tents in the start zone, under which the competitors waiting for the start can take shelter.
  • The finish line is marked visibly, and the finish is confirmed by a judge waving a black and white flag.
  • Competitors who failed to finish the prologue are allowed to race on the following day.
  • Competitors who failed to finish the race of the day are required to report this fact to the race director or flagman, located on the race course.
  • All participants will receive detailed information on the starting procedure and the course of the competition at the competitors’ briefing.
  • Overtaking of rivals should be done in accordance with the rules of fair play.
    In the event of an accident on the route, the first competitor who notices an injured person is obliged to inform medical services about the accident, at +48 533 334 422 or the nearest flagman on the competition route.

 

  1. PARC FERME/PADDOCK:
  • During the three days of the competition, competitors are required to store their motorcycles in the parc ferme.
  • The motorcycle must be returned to the parc ferme within a maximum of 2 hours after crossing the finish line, otherwise the rider will be disqualified.
  • Any repairs or refueling of motorcycles should be done only in the parc ferme.
  • The parc ferme is open from 08:00 to 22:00.
  • It is forbidden to ride a motorcycle on terrain other than the competition route and on a section other than from the finish line to the paddock.
  • Traffic regulations apply on the roads around the paddock (parc ferme).
  • The organizer is not responsible for riders and spectators riding motorcycles outside the above-mentioned areas.
  • The parc ferme is protected 24/daily.
  • The parc ferme will feature a free machine wash station, motorcycle parts stand, motorcycle service for a fee, and free toilet facilities.

 

  1. BUFFET:

One buffet (nutrition point) is available along the competition route, where competitors can use the food provided by the organizer (energy bars, fruit and water).

 

  1. RESULTS / CHECKPOINTS:
  • Competitors may only compete in one race for a given category.
  • In order to avoid traffics on the competition route on the second and third day, the competitors will be divided into two starting groups according to the categories: the first group – Hobby/Hobby Masters/Women and the second group – Expert/Expert Masters/PRO
  • Competitors will start individually in 10-second increments according to the start list posted at the race office.
  • The start list will be posted no later than 07:00 each race day.
  • The prologue is played to determine the starting position during the HARD ENDURO race on the second day. Competitors who obtained the best time in their category will start first in the 2nd day of the race, while the competitor with the weakest time will start last.
  • The starting order of the third day of the competition will be determined by the results of the second day – on the same basis as above.
  • The winner is the competitor in a given category who passes all checkpoints and obtains the total best time summed up after the first, second and third day of the HARD ENDURO competition. The better of the two prologue times is included in the overall competition time.
  • Time measurement is carried out using electronic chip readers located at checkpoints
  • Competitors must ride through checkpoints (interval timing locations), designated by two flags. Each competitor must stop at each of the checkpoints to collect the card /received during registration/. The card for check points should be mounted at the handlebars.
  • The number of check points will be given during the technical briefing.
  • Failure to pass the check points will result in a time penalty of 30 minutes.
  • THE TOTAL TIME FROM ALL THREE DAYS COUNTS TOWARDS THE RESULTS.
    IMPORTANT: Riding on the course before the competition = disqualification!

 

  1. ELECTRONIC CHIPS:

Each participant will receive a transponder at the time of registration, used for timing. Transponders will be issued at the race office during registration.

 

  1. RESPONSIBILITY-NATURE:

With great difficulty and effort we managed to acquire mountainous terrain for the organization of the Beskid HERO competition. We want the competition to become a permanent part of the annual calendar of motoring events and be held periodically for many years to come, becoming a showcase of the Polish hard enduro scene. The grounds are open to motorcyclists only for the duration of the competition. We ask all riders and fans to respect our efforts and refrain from riding on the competition grounds both before and after the competition.

Let’s respect nature and the owners of the grounds – if you see people breaking our rules and riding on the course talk to them and convey the above thought.

 

  1. PRIZES:

Prizes are awarded in each category up to 3rd place:

  • HOBBY, HOBBY MASTERS, EXPERT, EXPERT MASTERS, WOMEN: in-kind prizes.
  • PRO: financial prizes

 

  1. PENALTIES AND RULES:

The Chief Judge may apply the following penalties:

  • warnings,
  • time penalties,
  • disqualification,

A TIME PENALTY is imposed on a rider as a result:

  • failure to pass a checkpoint.

DISQUALIFICATION of a rider in a given round occurs as a result:

  • failure to appear for a briefing each day of the competition,
  • exchanging a motorcycle for another during the race,
  • swapping motorcycles with another rider without notifying the competition judge,
  • refueling outside the repair zone,
  • refueling a motorcycle with the engine running,
  • smoking in the repair zone by a competitor or his mechanic,
  • riding outside the designated track,
  • riding in the direction opposite to the designated one,
  • foreign assistance in the NO HELP ZONE

 

  1. PERMISSION TO USE IMAGE:

Registration of competitors is tantamount to consent to the use of the image captured during the competition in audiovisual materials, which will be used in the mass media and materials of the Organizer and Sponsor of the competition.

We hope that every rider who finishes the competition will leave the competition area with a smile on his face, a sense of fatigue after 3 days of motorcycle riding in the mountains. Please remember that we, the organizers, with great difficulty and effort have managed to acquire mountainous areas for the organization of RIDE HARD competitions. We want the competition to be permanently inscribed in the annual calendar of motorcycle events and held periodically for many years to come, becoming a showcase of the Polish hard enduro scene. The grounds are open to motorcyclists only for the duration of the competition. We ask all riders and fans to respect our efforts and refrain from riding on the competition grounds both before and after the competition.
